Foto Biennale – Janine McGuinness

Michael Unwin Wines is pleased to partner with the Ballarat Foto Biennale 2021, by featuring works from Janine McGuinness in the cellar door.

Janine McGuinness is a Contemporary Fine Art Photographer with various awards, including the Galloway Lawson Prize. Her works wer selected/nominated for the Lumen Prize Long List and the 7th Fine Art Photography Awards. Her qualifications include a Masters of Contemporary Art from VCA and she regularly exhibits in artist-run galleries.

The series of images in this exhibition concern how our memories and experience of a place can be transformed over time. The images are part of an ongoing body of work of natural spaces that serve as metaphors for emotional and psychological experiences. Place is assumed to be a transformed and highly uncertain setting where the relationship of reality, to the viewer and the internal emotional world, is not considered to be fixed.
